Amber

Amber started a private PreK class in 2014, which expanded into a full preschool program in Fall of 2021. Since that time, it has grown into a multi-facility preschool program, including toddler classes, various PreK classes (which she still leads), and after-school Bible study programs! As a former teacher at EBISD, Amber has great relationships with the staff and administration, creating a seamless transition between the Little Arrows programs and the public school. Little Arrows has a proven record of sending children fully prepared into Kindergarten, and Amber has more accumulated teaching experience than any other preschool teacher in town!

Amber began her career with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Drafting Technology, which she used to work in the Engineering department of a local government office for almost five years. Deciding that a desk job was not her career of choice and wanting to return to working with children (as she had during HS and college), Amber went back to school to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Houston. She used her teaching degree and certification to work as a third grade teacher at East Bernard Elementary for a number of years. Then she wanted to challenge herself even further and also set an example for her children, so Amber once again returned to school to complete her Master’s Degree in School Administration from Lamar University. After eight years teaching in the public school system, she finally decided to pursue her personal dream of beginning an independent Pre-K program.

Amber is married to Stephen Karasek, who was the "backbone" of making this business venture and dream a reality. Stephen is an Electronics Technician, a handy-man, a jack-of-all-trades, and an amazing Christian dad. Amber and Stephen have been married now for over 23 years and have three children, Cheslee (22, Bio-Medical Engineering Major at Texas A&M), Paetyn (19, Architectural Major at WCJC), and Bryton (17, Junior at EBHS).

Amber has been extremely involved in the EB community, as she brought up three children through the public school system here. All of her children continue to be heavily involved in local community activities, clubs, sports, and volunteer programs. She and her family are long-standing members of a community church in our area, and she has been heavily involved there in Children’s ministry, Youth ministry, Women's ministry, and Missions activities over the years.

Amber is a lover of camping, dancing, reading, crafting, junkin', and traveling. She prefers quaint settings over large social gatherings. Her two biggest ‘bucket list’ items are to take an Alaskan cruise and to become a published author of children's books one day! Amber's best friend is her husband and she loves spending time with her immediate family above everything else!
